This piece was created expressly for the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art to be sold in their 2013 benefit gala.
Calochortus Nuttallii is also known as Sego Lily and is native to Western US; it is also the state flower of Utah. The Sego Lily has 1 to 4 flowers, each with 3 white petals 4 cm long (and 3 sepals) which are tinged with lilac or occasionally magenta, and have a purplish band radiating from the yellow base.
